Today Programme 7am-9am everyday Radio 4, yes this does mean early mornings each day but as Chris said it needs to be listened to as it informs you of that days news and is watched by all 'important people' including Journalists (even though it is not the best thing to wake up to) However it's all the news you need as all gobbledygook nonsense is absent from programmes such as GMTV in the morning. Therefore you will actually be able to claim that you are up to date daily with the important news of what is going on currently in your world. 'Important person' of a particular day are always interviewed around 8:10 in the morning followed by the sport (and the queen's wee break that lasts for around 20 minutes as though it is the main source for sport news ha there's no competition with Sky Sports here.) Along with this should be the reading of both a broadsheet such as The Telegraph and a tabloid newspaper such as The Sun ('which is only 30p and can be recycled later on so no worries if you rip it' - Chris Horrie) It these instructions are followed it will educate you as a Journalist thoroughly and allow you to understand different types of writing for a different style of paper to suit its target audience.
