For some women, the brand and price is
everything when it comes to makeup. Just because something is more expensive it
is believed it is going to be better. But everyone is different and prefers
certain things when it comes to makeup so this is not the way you should think.
The media can be very deceiving when it
comes to their makeup adverts on the television. Using fake eyelashes to
represent mascaras, airbrushed images for foundations and specific wording to
encourage the audience to buy products. So, it is never certain what you will
get from a product and if it will suit you until you try it. But, it would cost
us a fortune if we were to buy all the products we like the look of! I have
chosen my ‘must have’ selection of makeup from my own products that I recommend
to women.
1. Bourjois bronzing powder is by
far the best bronzer I have used. It caters for all skin colours as it comes in
a fair or darker tone. The bronzer comes in a handy pallet that can fit in any
makeup bag. The powder is very soft on the skin scented with a faint chocolate
smell and is perfect to add a bronzed glow to the cheeks. It also lasts a long
time making it a perfect buy all round.
2. Mac powder is the soft and light
way to gain coverage on your face without having to use foundation. Foundation
can be heavy on the skin for some women and clog up the pores. Mac have bought
out this powder in different tones for women to match their skin colour. It is
ideal for day wear as it gives a light coverage but can also be worn on top of
a foundation in the evening to provide a smoother and even toned look.
3. Rocket Volum’ Express is the
new lengthening mascara from Rimmel London. I recommend this mascara to anyone
looking to lengthen their lashes. You only need one coat of this mascara to
noticeably lengthen your lashes however additional coats can be added to create
a fuller lash look.
4. The mascara can be accompanied
by it’s Rimmel London Eyebrow pencil to bring out the eyes creating a ‘sexy
look’. The pencil comes in different brown tones to match your eyebrow colour.
It has a brush on the end to shape and neaten the brow before applying pencil
to bring out the shape of your eyebrow completing the look. Emphasising the
eyebrow can bring out the eyes and re-shape the look of your whole face.
5. The Estee Lauder eyeshadow
palette is small and compact making it ideal to be carried around in a handbag.
This particular palette contains different tones of brown and a dark grey to create
the smokey eye effect. There are other colour palette’s that may suit different
hair colours. This eyeshadow is light but lasts all evening, what more could a
girl want?
6. Yves Saint Laurent touch
radiance brush foundation is a bit more expensive compared to other foundations
at around £36. This foundation is ideal for women who want more coverage on
their skin. The easy to apply brush applicator makes it simple for women to put
on evenly. It is guaranteed there is a match for everyone as this foundation
comes in at least ten different tones. It is also worth mentioning that this
particular foundation is a ‘best seller’ across beauty stores.
7. The Scandal Eyes Mascara by
Rimmel London is like a sister to the Volum' mascara mentioned above. Scandal
Eyes contains a larger brush that applies the mascara darker and thicker to the
lashes. This mascara is designed to thicken the lashes and can be worn on top
of the Volum' mascara to provide thickenss to the lashes once they have been
lengthened.
8. Tweezers should be something
that feature in everyone’s makeup bag. They can be a lifesaver for any girl in
those emergencies when you are going out and haven’t had time to get your
eyebrows threaded etc. They will always come in handy so grab yourself a pair
if you do not already have them.
9. Mac Crayon Eyeliner is different
from normal eyeliners as it comes in a smolder matte black tone. This means
that when applied it is darker on the eye and can be smudged to re-create the
‘smoky sexy’ eye look. If you prefer a lighter tone, I would recommend a normal
L’oreal or cheaper eyeliner pencil as it is not considerably different from those brands.
